Aviation Pavilion Ambassador

 

Purpose of Position

Welcome and greet visitors through the aircraft in the Aviation Pavilion offering assistance to visitors wishing to take self-guided tours. Volunteers rotate among Air Force One, BAC Concorde, Boeing 787, Boeing 727, and Boeing 747. Volunteers will provide customer service such as answering questions about these exhibits, taking count of visitors going inside, and monitoring traffic flow. It is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and support five of the Museum’s most popular artifact.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engage with visitors
  • Manage lines
  • Keep visitors safe
  • Keep tally of how many visitors enter the exhibit

Qualifications

  • People skills
  • Interest in aviation/airplanes
  • Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older


Commitment Expected

Aviation Pavilion volunteers will be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours per month. Shifts available are – 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Training

Onsite training will be provided, including information on each aircraft and airplanes in general.


Physical Requirements and Safety Concerns

Pavilion Ambassadors may be required to stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs.


Other

Volunteers are required to dress for the weather. No advertisements are allowed on clothing unless they are aviation-related. Pavilion Ambassadors report to the Pavilion Lead.
