In the Fossett Flyers programs, students learn about the science of flight while exploring the Flight Zone section of the Museum, as well as through a variety of hands-on activity stations.
For all Fossett programs, 1 chaperone for every 5 students is required.

Fossett Adventurers
Program available for booking starting October 1, 2020.
Fossett Engineers
In this interactive program, participants discover how airplane parts work together, experience imagination-fueled flights in the Flight Zone’s real aircraft, and assemble and test unique Flying Contraptions. This program is offered to students in K-1st grade, allows for a maximum of 32 participants and is available Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM, 11:15 AM, and 12:30 PM.

Fossett Captains
Through hands-on explorations, students investigate pushes and pulls, balance and the four forces of flight. This program is offered to students in 2 - 3rd grade, allows for a maximum of 32 participants and is available Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM, 11:15 AM and 12:30 PM.

Fossett Designers
Students explore the four forces of flight and the engineering design process, then build and test their own balsa wood gliders and parachutes, using specially designed launchers and wind tunnels. This program is offered to students in 4 - 6th grade, allows for a maximum of 32 participants and is available Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.

Fossett Explorers
Students work through introductory, hands-on activities in programming and engineering design. Using LEGO Mindstorms and tablets, students work in teams to program robots to complete space-themed challenges. Students will also design and build a pressure suit for a marshmallow, solving the problem of how to protect an explorer in the low-pressure environment of space.
This program is offered to students in 4th – 8th grade, allows for a maximum of 32 participants and is available Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
