SEATTLE, Feb. 7, 2012--On March 24 from 6 to 9 p.m, veteran SR-71 Blackbird spyplane crew Brian Shul and Col. Walt Watson will share their experiences at "Spy Pilot Chronicles," a Museum event that includes a private reception beneath the Museum's Blackbird, followed by a lecture and book signing. Join Shul and his long-time flight crew member Watson for this exclusive event. Tickets are $55 for Museum members, and $70 non-members.
The evening begins with a cash bar and appetizers reception beneath the Museum's unique M-21/D-21 Blackbird, where the two pilots will answer questions about the famous spyplane. Following the reception, there will be a presentation and book signing with Shul and Watson in the Museum's theater. Shul has been delivering his programs to full houses at the Museum for 20 years; this program with Watson - the only African American to qualify as a crewmember in the Blackbird, and the subject of many of Shul's stories - is entirely new, and not to be missed.
The event also marks the 20th anniversary of Shul's "Sled Driver," the first photo/essay book to put the reader into the cockpit of the most exotic aircraft ever built-the SR-71. Shul and Watson will be signing books at the event.
Advance tickets are available online at museumtix.
