Frank Piasecki and Other Polish Aviation Designers

Frank Piasecki and Other Polish Aviation Designers, from the Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego (Polish Aviation Museum) in Krakow, explores the careers of ten Polish and Polish-American engineers and their tremendous contributions to aviation technology.

The American-born, Frank Piasecki is well known in the West. His years of work advancing helicopter technology earned him the National Medal of Technology and a place in the U.S. Army Hall of Fame among numerous other accolades. But what about the contributions of other Polish aviation designers? This exhibit explores the life and work of individuals who contributed to the development of iconic flying machines, including the Concorde, the deHavilland Comet, the Sea King helicopter and even the Space Shuttle.

Frank Piasecki and Other Polish Aviation Designers will be on display in the Great Gallery beginning November 11, 2012.
