Museum of Flight to Offer Free Youth Days Dec. 1 - 20

SEATTLE, Nov. 18, 2009--The Museum of Flight will be offering free admission to youths 17 and under from Dec. 1 - 20, through a generous grant from the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation.
As part of the support, an exhibit in both the Keith McCaw Dream of Flight Lobby and the WWI gallery of the J. Elroy McCaw Personal Courage Wing (PCW) will introduce the public to the remarkable story of long-time Seattle resident Norman Archibald, who passed away on Sept. 21, 1975.
A WWI pilot, Mr. Archibald authored the popular book "Heaven High, Hell Deep," published in 1935. The book details his training and experiences as a WWI Army Air Service pilot. Not long after he started flying along the German front in France, he was shot down, captured and then sent to a prisoner of war camp.
The foundation created in Mr. Archibald's name has now completed more than 30 years of grant-making to charitable organizations within the Puget Sound region, giving over $12 million to qualified organizations such as The Museum of Flight.
Visitors to The Museum of Flight are encouraged to donate unwrapped toys at the Museum Store's drop-off location in support of Toys for Tots. |

### The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 (on Boeing Field between downtown Seattle and SeaTac Airport.) The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults, $13 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for active military, $7.50 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5. Group rates are available. Admission on the first Thursday of the month is free from 5 to 9 p.m. courtesy of Wells Fargo.
