Scheduled Launch of Space Shuttle Discovery on STS-133

Space shuttle Discovery is scheduled to launch on its last flight, the next-to-the-last scheduled launch in the space shuttle program, at 1:40 pm PDT. Live coverage of this historic event will be shown on the cinema screen in the William M. Allen Theater. This event is subject to potential schedule changes or delays.

Once a month, the Museum stays open late - for free! Enjoy the Museum's Great Gallery, Personal Courage Wing, Space: Exploring the New Frontier exhibit and more from 5-9 p.m., courtesy of Wells Fargo. Museum Store and Wings Café will also remain open for the extended hours on this night.
Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Exhibition
Saturday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Museum welcomes back the Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Society for an exhibition of their fascinating hobby, which combines the challenges of fine model-making and sophisticated strategy game-playing. Several games will be demonstrated at the show; in addition to games featuring aerial combat, there will be a 1930s air racing game, and tables for earthbound battles. Visitors are encouraged to participate. The society members will be on hand to answer questions, while hundreds of models will be on display.
Flaming Geyser Flyers Model Aviation Exhibit
Sunday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Flaming Geyser Flyers Radio Controlled Association hosts a prestigious showcase of Northwest model airplanes representing the history and future of model aviation. This exhibit will include dazzling models of every size and type, including radio control, free flight, and control line models. Veterans Day Ceremony
Thursday, Nov. 11, 2 p.m.
The Museum recognizes the contributions of America's veterans at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The special guest speaker is Col. Chuck DeBellevue, U.S.A.F. Ret., recognized for his six aerial MiG combat victories during the Vietnam War. The ceremony will include a performance by the Boeing Employees' Concert Band, the University of Washington Air Force ROTC color guard, and special programs for youth, families and adults. On Veterans Day, all U.S. veterans and current U.S. military personnel will be admitted to the Museum free of charge. An autograph session immediately follows the ceremony.
Lecture: Defeating the MiG - U.S. Air Force in Combat

The Museum will host four U. S. Air Force jet crew members who achieved aerial combat victories in America's recent conflicts. The speakers are Gen. Robert Titus, U.S.A.F. Ret., who earned three aerial combat victories against enemy MiG aircraft during the Vietnam War -- two of them in the same F-4 Phantom that is on display at The Museum of Flight; Maj. John Madden, who is credited with three aerial MiG combat victories during the Vietnam War; Col. Chuck DeBellevue, U.S.A.F. Ret., recognized for his six aerial MiG combat victories during the Vietnam War as an F-4 Weapon Systems Officer-two of them while flying with Maj. Madden; and Cesar Rodriguez, F-15 pilot, with three aerial combat victories -- two during Operation Desert Storm and one while on duty over Kosovo.
