SEATTLE, Feb. 11, 2022—NASA’s Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter landed on Mars Feb. 18, 2021, and The Museum of Flight is celebrating their first anniversary with a Feb. 18-20 weekend of family activities, NASA speakers and planetarium shows. The events will take place next to the Museum’s full-scale NASA mock-ups of the two robust robotic explorers, and are free with Museum admission.

Saturday the 19th is Family Day, with planetarium shows, hands-on family activities, free Percy buttons, a talk by NASA JPL Systems Engineer Alyssa Deardorff, and Mars rover team experts will be on hand to field everyone’s questions. Family activities continue on Sunday the 19th, plus there will be a special presentation by NASA JPL Perseverance scientist Dr. Melissa Rice. She will talk about the Mars2020 rover Mission and her personal experience as a Co-Investigator for the Mastcam-Z investigation currently in development for the mission. Rice will also lecture at a Museum Member event on Feb. 18.
