SEATTLE, April 21, 2023—On April 29 the Museum’s galleries will be alive with dozens of droids with the Pacific NW R2 Club Expo. The mechanical marvels will hold court with all visitors, and their makers will be on hand to share the secrets of their craft. The Expo will be 10 a.m - 5 p.m., and at 2 p.m. local droid builder Craig Lindsay will have a special presentation covering the basics of making a droid and how he recreated some of the movie industry's most famous droids. All programs are free with Museum admission, and costumes are encouraged.

How Star Wars, STEM and 3D Printing Inspired a New Hobby
2-3 p.m.
Local droid builder Craig Lindsay talks about his path from Star Wars fan to father, and how 3D printing a droid as a STEM project for his young daughter inspired a new hobby. He will cover the basics of building a droid and talk through the process of building some of the movie industry's most famous droids including R2-D2, BB-8, Andor’s B2-EMO and others.
