The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, commonly known as the "Huey", is perhaps most famous for its extensive use during the Vietnam War. The first Hueys began arriving in Vietnam in 1962. There they served in medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), transport, aerial assault and general utility roles for the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.

The Museum of Flight's Huey¬—U.S. Army serial number #69-15140—is a UH-1H model, which was produced more than any other version of the helicopter. It was delivered to the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1970 where it flew as part of B Company, 158th Aviation Battalion until February of 1972.
