SEATTLE, Oct. 23, 2019—On Nov. 9—Veterans Day Weekend—filmmakers Dave Merlino and Dustin Sweet screen their new documentary, Apache Blues: Welcome Home, a film about their search for the truth in what is commonly taught about the Vietnam War, and the reality for the veterans who fought in it. The film focuses on the first air assault unit in history, the 1st Squadron of the 9th Cavalry Regiment, its duties and its veterans, who share stories of war and of their difficult adjustments to civilian life. It is a journey of understanding.

The 1 p.m. film and discussion with the filmmakers are free with Museum admission. Museum admission free for veterans Nov. 9-11.
