On Saturday, August 17th the ISEC space elevator conference will be sponsoring a robotics competition in the T.A. Wilson Great Gallery. See teams compete with robotic climbers simulating space elevator satellite deployments starting around 10:00 AM with the finals at 4:00 PM.
In the Charles Simonyi Space Gallery there will be two public talks on space elevators with a Q&A after each talk:
- 11:00 AM - "An Introduction to the Space Elevator” - presented by Dr. Pete Swan
- 12:00 PM - “Space Elevator Design Challenges and Usage Scenarios” - presented by John Knapman
The robotics competition and the two talks are FREE with general Museum admission.
