Pancho Barnes, born Florence Lowe in 1901, lived a life straight out of the movies – literally! Pancho was most famously known for running her Happy Bottom Riding Club ranch for military personnel at Edwards AFB in the 1940s, but her impressive resume also included stunt flying for Hollywood films & fighting with revolutionaries in Mexico while disguised as a man. From learning to fly on a whim to acting as her own attorney, Pancho’s life was filled to the brim with barrier-breaking excitement at every turn.

Please join Museum Education admin coordinator Shae Skager on a wild ride through the riveting life & groundbreaking legacy of Pancho Barnes & her famous Happy Bottom Riding Club. Registration is not required to join this virtual member exclusive event!
