Bartell Drugs sponsors free admission for dads

--Dads receive free admission to The Museum of Flight on Father's Day with a coupon from Bartell Drugs. Treat dad to all of the special programs and activities on Sunday, June 21 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Coupons are available now at participating Bartell Drugs stores in Western Washington. Regular admission prices apply for additional family members.


Father's Day is one of the busiest and most popular days at the Museum. This year's event features rides and tours of World War II aircraft; 40% discounts on full-motion simulators--see the Museum's Web site www.museumofflight.org for discount coupons; and the new, highly interactive Museum Tower at Boeing Field exhibit. Other family activities include free space shuttle flight simulators; watching an assortment of flying machines in the entertaining "Flying Gizmo Show," Lego® building with the official "Lego®Man," and making edible airplanes. There will also be a souvenir photo booth and special tours inside of the Museum.

Yes, a delectable, edible airplane! Make your dad a version of the "sweetest" plane in our collection, the Wible Plane. This is a plane that you have to see and taste to believe. Special thanks to Wings Aloft for their support with the edible airplane supplies.
 
Help dad recapture his youth with some old-fashioned paper airplane building fun! Together you can make our Delta Wing Super Flyer, Amazing Flying Ring, and other great flying gliders.

Tip-to-Tail Tour: Boeing Model 40B

Twenty four Boeing Model 40As were used to inaugurate the Boeing Air Transport air mail and passenger service between Chicago and San Francisco, July 1, 1927. In 1928, most of the 40As were upgraded to 40Bs. Learn about this historic aircraft during the tip-to-tail tour.

Take home a special souvenir of your day with dad. Photos will be taken in front of the Museum's popular Aerocar. There is a $1 donation request for photos, with proceeds benefiting the Museum's Aerospace Camp Experience Summer Camp.
  Flying Gizmos Show

Celebrate flight at the Museum's Flying Gizmos Show! The Flying Gizmos Show is a fun and educational program, generally only presented at schools. This presentation is designed to help youth discover the science, engineering and history of flight through fun flying toys and models. The show begins with the invention of the kite more than 2,000 years ago, and continues through the age of space vehicles with a real flying saucer!
Wings of Freedom WWII Bomber and Fighter Tour

Museum of Flight Tower at Boeing Field Exhibit
The Museum of Flight Tower at Boeing Field reopened on May 9 after extensive renovations and the addition of four entirely new exhibits--Animal Flight, Weather and Flight, Physics of Flight and Flying Machines. The Museum's architecturally distinctive, semicircular "Tower" overlooking Boeing Field/King County International Airport features enhanced, interactive displays about air traffic control from both a pilot's and controller's point of view.
