SEATTLE, Aug. 23, 2018--On Sept. 1 the Museum will present the story of how CIA pilots of the Republic of China Air Force (Taiwan) "Black Bat Squadron" flew a daring nighttime mission to deploy secret surveillance equipment near a Chinese nuclear weapons base in 1969.


Aviation historian Li Wang, Art Winn (son of Black Bat Officer Jim Winn) and Black Bat veteran Tsoming Ho will discuss the planning and execution of this epic clandestine operation known as Heavy Tea. Lt. Col. Heng-Chih Lin, Liaison Officer of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office will provide a special introduction to the talk. The 2 p.m. presentation is free with Museum admission.

The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field halfway between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Museum admission for adults is $24.00 on-site and $22.00 online. Youth 5 through 17 are $15.00 on-site and $14 online, youth 4 and under are free. Seniors 65 and over $20 on-site and $19 online. Groups of ten or more: $22.00 per adult, $14.00 per youth, Thanks to Wells Fargo, on the first Thursday of every month, admission is free from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. And parking is always free.
