The First Space Race, between the Soviet Union and the United States, began 67 years ago with Sputnik 1. For the past quarter of a century, Russians and Americans, along with other nationalities, have been living and working continuously in space aboard the International Space Station. Museum Docent Ron Hobbs reviews this history as humanity begins the process of becoming a multiplanetary species.
