Cryptocurrency donations are converted to U.S. dollars immediately and transferred to the Museum within a week.
Yes, you have the option to include an email address with your anonymous donation to receive an automatic tax receipt.
Cryptocurrency donations are classified by the IRS as property for tax purposes. You receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation.
