Western Aerospace Scholars is seeking Washington State certified middle and high school educators to both evaluate online coursework and participate as an academic facilitator for one summer experience.

As an evaluator in WAS, teachers will be exposed to University of Washington level content, have opportunities to interact with professionals in STEM fields, tour engineering and research facilities not open to the general public, work with highly engaged and motivated students, and learn new techniques for demonstrating STEM concepts in their classrooms. Educators can apply for either the junior program or the sophomore program in Washington State.

Stipends and clock hours are available for both programs.

Sophomore Program:

  • PHASE ONE: March to April 2020
  • PHASE TWO: Summer 2020 (a three-day summer experience that runs from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.)

Applications available December 1, 2019.

Junior Program

  • PHASE ONE: November 2019 to April 2020
  • PHASE TWO: Summer 2020(a six-day summer residency experience where teachers stay with students at a nearby hotel)
