Free public tours are offered daily on a variable schedule by the Museum’s passionate and knowledgeable volunteer tour guides. Tours add exciting facts and amazing stories to everything at the Museum.
Our tour guides choose the topics for each public tour. This enables them to use their personal experiences with aviation and aerospace as well as to share historical stories they are most enthusiastic about. Tour topics can range from the Wright Brothers to rocket propulsion, with each tour guide bringing unique stories to every tour.
Most tours are between thirty to sixty minutes long. Our tour guides understand that tours aren’t for everyone, and will not be offended if you leave early. They are also happy to have guests join in part way through.
Tour guides receive extensive training, so if the scheduled tour is not one you are interested in, you may always ask if they can do a tour with a different focus. In addition to providing public tours, our guides walk around the galleries answering questions, providing fun facts, and telling short stories.

Tour Schedules
The Daily Public Tour Schedule is updated twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. When you arrive for your visit, you will find the Daily Public Tour Schedule on a digital screen near the entrance to the T.A. Wilson Great Gallery, just off the Main Lobby.

Accessibility
Tour guides are here to enhance your visit! If you need an accommodation, simply ask.
Tour guides can adjust their tours to be near benches located around our galleries, can assist you with a wheelchair, or they can speak slowly and clearly while facing you to enable lip reading or to help understand a second (or third, or fourth!) language. The Museum offers courtesy wheelchairs for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Voice Amplification
All tour guides have access to electronic voice amplifiers and are encouraged to use them on every tour. If you think you or a member of your party will need an amplifier to hear well and your tour guide does not have one, please request that they use one.

Some tour guides speak more than one language. Availability does vary, please reach out to Volunteers@museumofflight.org to inquire.

Tours for the Blind
The Museum offers curated tours for Museum guests who are blind or are low-vision. Specially trained Docents take guests right next to planes on exhibit to learn about aircraft shapes, lines, designs and features by touching airplane models and real aircraft in our collection.
