Living History
Amazing Skies Theater is the Museum's multi-generational drama troupe that brings history to life through original and scripted presentations, both on stage and up close and personal.
Ever wondered what went through Amelia Earhart’s mind before she left on her final flight? How soldiers in WWI dealt with the horrors of the trenches? What inspired Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings of flying machines? Find out with Amazing Skies!
Availability & Price
Living history characters can be found around the Museum on most weekends, Tuesdays, and other peak times. These characters provide a glimpse into aviation history through personal stories and hands-on demonstrations throughout the day. Locations and times vary, but look for them especially in the Red Barn, Personal Courage Wing, or Aviation Pavilion.
Amazing Skies Theater also occasionally produces plays and performances about aviation history. Past productions include Salute to Space Animals, A WASP’s Story, and Cloud in a Bag. Check the calendar for these special events.

Getting Involved
Want to become a part of Amazing Skies? No previous experience or theater training is required! If you simply enjoy telling stories, we can help you become a successful living history presenter. With over 500 years of aviation history and a wide range of historical figures, we offer something for everyone.
Amazing Skies also has plenty of interesting projects you can help out on that involve costumes, research, writing, stage management and more. Come in once a month. Shifts are typically 2 or 3 hours and we can always use an extra hand.
