How can exposure to space affect the human body? How do we protect an astronaut in a low pressure environment? In this 1 hour workshop, students will investigate the answers to these questions, and learn about the many important layers found in an astronaut’s space suit. Additionally, they will work in small teams to design pressure suits for a marshmallow astronaut using household materials, and then test their designs in our portable vacuum chamber. Will your marshmallow astronaut survive the vacuum of space?
